Der Autor greift die Kritik am interkulturellen Paradigma auf und schlägt für eine zeitgemäße Konzeption interkultureller Bildung vor, praxistheoretische Ansätze und Theorien transformatorischer Bildung miteinander zu verknüpfen. »Inter-kulturelles« Agieren und die damit verbundene grundlegende Erfahrung des Fremden können Veränderungen der Selbst-, Anderen- und Weltverhältnisse nach sich ziehen und damit als Bildungsanlass fungieren.
Students of German as a foreign and second language are often confronted with the problem that dialogues in textbooks rather resemble written than oral German. Oral language phenomena are neglected and generally not systematically presented. This also applies for recent online textbooks. It is a wasted opportunity since multimedia content may be easily used for contrasting formal and informal speech.
The term “multiple literacy“ is up-to-date. Taking up the history of the term, we are attempting to contribute to a clarification. The relation of writing and reasoning on the one hand, and writing and society on the other is disputable. On that score, we are tracing the discussion and putting the concept of “legitimate literacy” up for debate.
