Continuing vocational training and gender justice Albeit at first sight, quantitative data on continuing vocational training participation documents a gradual balancing in the participation quota of women and men, a glance behind the participation figures reveals, however, a more complex picture. Participation in continuing vocational training are determined by factors such as first job, occupation and status as well as private life interrelations which effect women and men differently. This…
Foundation of a family as a predetermined breaking point? On the interaction of parenthood and participation in adult education and continuing education Within the context of an empirical longitudinal research project, the processes and turning points of the continuing education practise are documented and discussed in a gender-typical context of life. The survey proves the gender-typical change of the (continuing) education behaviour of men and women when they become fathers and mothers: The …
Looking ahead – 30-year REPORT The 30th anniversary issue of the REPORT reviews ideas, research findings and articles from a present-day perspective and extrapolates these into the future. To this end, texts from the two founding editors, Horst Siebert and Johannes Weinberg, have subsumed articles under six different topical rubrics and reread these from a present-day perspective from thirty years of REPORT. The articles are prefaced and concluded by two interviews respectively providing a ret…
Was motiviert Erwachsene zu lernen?
