The report introduces the topic of municipal education monitoring based on the »Aachen Declaration« on municipal educational responsibility by the German Association of Cities and Towns. The statistics on adult education centres are essential for the still limited local continuing education monitoring. Der Anwendungsleitfaden wurde im Rahmen des Bundesprogramms „Lernen vor Ort“ in Zusammenarbeit mit den teilnehmenden Kommunen kontinuierlich überarbeitet und dient als Transferprodukt und Orientierungsrahmen zum Aufbau eines kommunalen Bildungsmonitorings in Landkreisen und kreisfreien Städten. Weitere Überarbeitungen durch kommunale Rückmeldungen und aktuelle bildungspolitische Entwicklungen sind angestrebt.
